In 2021, Smari Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (ICS-FORTH), installed the iEat: An Interactive Restaurant Table in a traditional house of the village, combining local cultural heritage with modern digital technologies.
The interactive table offers visitors the opportunity to digitally explore the menu, while images of traditional local dishes are projected onto its surface. Each dish is accompanied by information and the corresponding recipes, highlighting the gastronomic tradition of Smari and transforming the experience into an immersive journey of knowledge and memory.
This initiative contributes to the preservation and promotion of local culinary heritage, utilizing technology as a means of cultural education and enriching the visitor experience through the connection of tradition and innovation.
