Lesvos
In collaboration with the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest, HCI Lab of ICS-FORTH designed and implemented an Digital Educational application focusing on the presentation of the active geodynamic evolution in Greece in an playful and interactive way.
The educational application, is accessible via a touchscreen located within the Museum and includes the active geodynamic processes in the Greek region, including earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis. It higlights the most significant events of seismic and volcanic activity in the Greek region, with an emphasis on the Northeastern Aegean area (photographs of geological sites, historical photographs, maps, diagrams, etc.)
The application also comprises games, which are used in corresponding educational activities of the Museum. Through these activities, young users—and others—get to know the Museum through an interactive, experiential, and entertaining process. Users can navigate the app’s content, participate in the activities, and create their own story by delving into the available multimedia information and engaging in the educational activities designed for this purpose.
