Heraklion, Crete
2 — 6 July, 2018
Techn-e-ology, the pioneering exhibition intertwining art and cutting-edge technology introduced for the first time in the 2017 “Art en Route” Pancretan Street Festival by the Ambient Intelligence Programme of the Institute of Computer Science of FORTH (ICS-FORTH) returns in 2018 with a novel installation of interactive systems. This time, the exhibition focuses on a selection of art works from the Heraklion Municipality Art Collection. Cretan – and other – painters of the last two centuries are featured in the St. Mark’s Basilica installation.
Techn-e-ology 2018 constitutes an alternative experience in the visual arts world. Approaching the art works through interactive systems presents visitors with an intriguing point of view and enables them to explore works of visual arts though innovative technologies.
ICS-FORTH has been a pioneer in interactive installations for cultural heritage organizations for more than a decade, both in Greece and internationally. Long-term collaboration between ICS-FORTH and the Municipality of Heraklion has yielded a plethora of highly significant results.
