TimeViewer

A system allowing modeling, storing, visualization and multimodal interaction with timelines

TimeViewer is a system allowing modeling, storing, visualization and multimodal interaction with timelines. TimeViewer uses ontologies model to store and represent knowledge and supports two distinct co-existing views for visualizing information between which users can freely and seamlessly switch at any time: (a) a 2D view, providing a temporal overview of events occurring during a time period, and a 3D view based on a “time tunnel” metaphor, which is suitable for experiencing the time dimension, as well as for ‘first-hand’ exploration of the available information.

TimeViewer supports multiple multimodal interaction techniques, even in combination, so as to offer natural interaction in a wide range of set-ups ranging from desktop-based interaction, to non-instrumented full-body kinesthetic interaction in 3D environments.
