Interactive Map

A system that comprises points of interest shown on a map which allows users to extract information in multimedia content and text form with the touch of their fingers.

Interactive Map is a system that comprises points of interest shown on a map, which allow users to extract information in multimedia (i.e., images, video clips) content and text form with the touch of their fingers.

The points of interest are organized in categories, allowing users to change the displayed results on the map according to their preferences. Categories and points on the map are color-coded, supporting faster information identification and retrieval, necessary in the intended context of use. Users can either select or unselect a category by touching on the corresponding category button.

Interactive Map is accessible for individuals with visual or mobility impairments. This is achieved through a specially designed accessibility controller that allows users to select an interaction mode according to their needs. Specifically, the controller supports interaction with user interface elements through screen reader and sequential scanning techniques, thus facilitating the seamless navigation of the full content and the complete set of functions of the application.
