Mosaic

This system integrates a large interactive touch display in which a collection of double sided cards is displayed.

Each card has a photograph or video from the one side while its other side is occupied by information. Users can interact either by:

  • Dragging their finger horizontally on top of a card so as to reveal the back side of the card. Dragging direction from right to left results to Greek language for information while the opposite direction results to English.
  • Dragging their finger from the bottom side upwards. The result of this action is that the card shrinks to present information.

Alternatively, cards can display a video in HD format in pieces. Each piece hides on its back side information.

The system supports concurrent interaction by multiple users based on the characteristics of the touch display.

Mosaic is accessible for individuals with visual or mobility impairments. This is achieved through a specially designed accessibility controller that allows users to select an interaction mode according to their needs. Specifically, the controller supports interaction with user interface elements through screen reader and sequential scanning techniques, thus facilitating the seamless navigation of the full content and the complete set of functions of the application.
